unfair stresses and hand candy cut in half.
we accommodated everyone we could,
at the expense of the experience itself.
a handful of small bodies
danced happily on the floor
for those it failed, we rolled smokes in the cold.
and all ended up on the dance floor, anyway.
and in the morning i had all these photographs of your face.
and i learned how to turn the dark into light.
and all i'm left with is that rainbow bracelet with my name on it
given by my new saviors when as i entered this home of promise.
