through arizona, and new mexico at night.
driving through a dark texas morning
(as bleak as i imagined).

put you in our back seat.

ashing my memories out the passenger window,
i made wishes on falling stars
and stared at a big orange moon
to the horizon.

at noon today we crossed
the austin city limit
blasted beyonce
crushed our camels
and pulled off south first street.
